Development of the atomic theory

Neils Bohr- 1922

While I was working with Rutherford a little bit, together we figured out that electrons do not orbit randomly in an atom, but rather in a circular orbit. Now I know what you are thinking, 'isn't this the same as what Hantaro Nagaoka said?'. But the difference is he said it was using gravity but in reality its electrostatic forces that maintains attraction.

Ernest Rutherford- 1911

Recently I have discovered what is to be called the 'nucleus'. The nucleus  is a positively charged central core in the centre of an atom. I've determined that atoms are mostly empty space; I identified this while I was working on my 'gold foil experiment'.

Hantaro Nagaoka- 1904

I have rejected Thomson's theory and made my own. My atomic model is like a 'miniature solar system', if you will. The centre of the atom has a positive charge while negatively charged electrons orbit around, like planets.

Max Planck- 1900

I have recently discovered that when you exert enough force on an atom, thus making it vibrate, you have the ability to measure the energy.

J.J. Thomson- 1897

I believe I have discovered the electron! I came up with the structure on atoms and I like to call it 'The raisin bun model'. It has a positive charged sphere with negatively charged electrons embedded like raisins into a bun. The negative electrons balance out the positive sphere. Therefore, this made the atom have no charge at all. The reason I have changed Dalton's theory is because I found out that atoms can be cut.

John Dalton- 1803

I have been doing some experimenting with different chemicals , and I have come to the conclusion that all elements consist of identical atoms. When I say they are same I mean in mass, but this only applies for the same element, such as gold, oxygen and chlorine.  Now, amalgamations were atoms for different elements that were combined together. Elements are pure substances! They are not mixtures of different atoms.I am still unsure of their structure, unfortunately.

Isaac Newton- 1704

I made a theory today.... Picture this... a mechanical universe with small solid masses. The key is that these masses are in motion all the time.

Democritus- 460 B.C.

Today I asked myself the Question 'If i break matter in half, how many times can I repeat the process before it breaks no further?'. I then developed the idea of atoms. I then thought these atoms must be indestructible.
