Democritus- 460 B.C.

Today I asked myself the Question 'If i break matter in half, how many times can I repeat the process before it breaks no further?'. I then developed the idea of atoms. I then thought these atoms must be indestructible.

      Clearly, matter is made of fire, water, earth and air. There are also four qualities to these elements; dryness, hotness, coldness, and moistness.
